Basketball - South Mission Beach Sports Park is home to one outdoor basketball court. This court is maintained through donations from Bill Walton. Pick up games are the most common style of play on this court and range from 3-on-3 half court to 5-on-5 full court. Summer weekends and early evenings are the most popular time to find others who enjoy pick-up games.

2) San Diego BIG (Beach Improvement Group) ( http://www.sandiegobig.org/ )
Mission: Through community input and involvement, San Diego Beach Improvement Group, a non profit organization, will bring people and resources together to enhance, beautify and revitalize the beach experience. By building athletic equipment, children's playgrounds and developing programs that encourage all ages to be active - these family-friendly enhancements can be enjoyed by community members, visitors and all San Diegans.
Goal: For each area of focus, we will collect surveys of local community members, business owners and visitors, create voting options on-line, then actively pursue resources through sports events, fundraisers, donations, grants and sponsorship to accomplish our goals. Some sample enhancements may include better park lighting, childrens' playground equipment, drinking fountains, bike racks, beach volleyball courts, a snack bar and more.
